“Music is what feelings sound like”
That quote bears truth and it is true of our hearts toward God.
Saying that "worship is what our desire looks like" could be summed the same way. However music does not define worship - it is merely one of the ways we worship God.
The desire of the Music Ministry here at Mason County Reformed Church is to magnify God through music. We work as a team to create an environment of praise unto the Lord for our Sunday morning gatherings. The greatest commandment given to us is to “love the Lord your God with all our heart, with all of your soul, and with all of your strength” (Deut 6:5).
In doing this, Jesus says that we must also love our neighbor –
this becomes the form of our team in the Music Ministry.
You will find that we are a multi-instrumental praise team, although we do not incorporate brass or wind instruments. We have an organ that we will summon from time to time to pay tribute to our roots in music or to simply incorporate it as a supportive instrument. Typically we will have guitars, piano, bass, drums, and multiple vocalists but we do not feel the need to confine ourselves to this each week.
To sum it up plainly, if you’ve ever caught yourself walking around with a song stuck in your mind, we hope that our music will get His Word and Truth “stuck” in the same way.
"Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, His love endures forever"
